- The U.S.S. Miyazaki NCC-316608 carried an experimental singularity engine. When the drive failed, the crew perished. It was abandoned in a starship graveyard in the Beta Quadrant, and was later used for training missions by the War College.
- Tarima Sadal has a neural inhibitor implant to help regulate her Betazoid psychic abilities. When she was a child, she accidentally blew out her father's auditory cortex.
- Vulcan Cadet B'Avi dies saving Caleb from a close range shot by a Furie pirate.
- Tig Notaro (Commander Jett Reno) does not appear in this episode.
- Kyle Djokovic's name has been anglicized to Jokovich in the on-screen graphic displays.
