- After telling Beverly about his waking nightmares, Beverly diagnoses Jack with irumodic syndrome, which is what ultimately killed Picard.
- Raffi, Worf, and Riker use the key they received from Krinn to enter the Daystrom Institute facility, which is protected by an advanced A.I. The Daystrom A.I. is "Daystrom Android M-5-10", the last android built by Dr. Altan Inigo Soong before he died. The new Android is a golem modeled after Dr. Soong's appearance, and integrates the personalities of Data, B4, Lore, and Lal.
- Upon recognizing Will Riker, the A.I. dispatches a crow and a holographic Professor James Moriarty while playing disjointed music.
- Riker recognizes the music as "Pop Goes The Weasel" and there is a flashback to him meeting Data in "Encounter At Farpoint".
- Moriarty last appeared in the Next Generation season 6 episode "Ship in a Bottle".
- The Starfleet Fleet Museum at Athan Prime is run by Commodore Geordi La Forge. His younger daughter Alandra is stationed there with him.
- Several historic ships are shown on screen including: the U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A, U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656, and the Klingon bird of prey H.M.S. Bounty from Star Trek III: The Search For Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
- Amongst the items shown at Daystrom Institute are the Genesis Device from Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan, a genetically modified Tribble, and the remains of James T Kirk.
- The Data/Lore/Daystrom android reveals the changelings stole the remains of Jean-Luc Picard.
- Jack and Sidney steal the cloaking device from the Bounty and attempt to integrate it into the U.S.S. Titan's systems.
- Vadic captures Riker and takes him prisoner on The Shrike, where Deanna Troi is imprisoned.
- Mica Burton (Ensign Alandra La Forge) is LeVar Burton's daughter in real life.
- Stephanie Czajkowski (Lt. T'Veen) and Jin Maley (Ensign Esmar) appear in the end credits, but have no speaking lines in the aired episode.
