• Owosekun joins Burnham on the casino away mission, and wins a fight club to obtain latinum to buy the isolynium needed to build Tarka's isolytic subspace weapon out from under Book and Tarka.
  
• Burnham joins Booker and two former Emerald Chain lackeys in a game of Leonian Poker to get the isolynium. She loses the game to Book, but places a stealth tracker on the isolynium.
  
• The DMA is discovered to be a tool that mines boronite, which is used to provide power to unknown species 10-C's star system. The system is surrounded by a massive barrier shield.
